River Ouse Bridge carries M62 traffic over the River Ouse in East Yorkshire. The mile-long structure was opened in 1976 and comprises of 29 spans on 28 piers, two half joints and two abutments.

The scope for Aquaforce consisted of the release of the existing 208 bridge bearings across 26 pier locations, utilising hydro-demolition to remove the grout plinths and sections of the concrete crosshead to facilitate the bearing replacement works.
Works were carried out on two piers simultaneously, with the sequence commencing at the east and west abutments, working towards the centre of the bridge in line with the Client’s programme requirements.

- Treatment of generated waste water using Aquaforce’s Siltbuster units
