M5 Golden Valley Bridge refurbishment

The M5 J11 Golden Valley Interchange refurbishment scheme is currently in progress, requiring concrete repairs, bridge bearing replacement, cathodic protection installation, removal and reinstatement of ballast walls and stringcourses on both the North and South bridges.

Aquaforce Concrete Services Ltd has been engaged to provide hydro demolition services to the project to facilitate the concrete repairs, bearing replacement works and bulk removal of the ballast and wing walls and stringcourses, totaling approx. 200m3 of reinforced concrete removal.

Works began on site early November 2020 working to a 55 week programme. In addition to the provision of High Pressure Water Jetting services, Aquaforce is also providing the following additional services:

  • Tankered water supply using our in-house fleet of LGV tankers.
  • Waste water treatment services, utilising in-house fleet of Siltbuster units to enable the waste water to be treated and discharged to local foul sewer.

Works are currently progressing on programme and to the satisfaction of the client.
